Thank you for your interest in scheduling a visit by author Patti Sherlock. Sherlock appreciates the heroic work of teachers and librarians in encouraging creativity and reading among young people. As someone who makes her living as a writer, Sherlock has a special message for young people who want to express themselves creatively.

Allow a full hour for “Creativity,” Sherlock's 30-minute illustrated presentation, followed by a 30-minute question and answer period. Sherlock often speaks to all-school assemblies; however, her talk is aimed at upper-grade elementary through junior high age pupils and may be over the heads of kindergarten and some first-grade classes.

Sherlock charges $300 for the creativity presentation. If a school presentation occurs near the lunch period, Sherlock enjoys staying after to have lunch and visit with students. If a visit is to be all day and include talks to individual classes, the fee is $500. Charge for mileage is 40 cents per mile from Idaho Falls, ID. Whenever possible, Sherlock will cluster events to save your school transportation costs. Please provide the following information:

•  Preferred date for visit. Include a second and a third choice date. State what day of the week simply does not work for your school.

•  Whether the scheduled visit coincides with an event such as Young Author's Conference or a reading promotion.

•  Other information you consider relevant.
