I started writing as a child. When animal friends died, I wrote forlorn stories about it.

I grew up in the country in Colorado. As an unsupervised kid, I roamed and explored free as a deer. I’ve lived in rural Idaho most of my life, sharing days with pets and livestock, wild creatures, and birds. All but one of the books I’ve published have been about animals.
